2025 SoxProspects.com All-Stars: Pitchers
Following up on Monday's post recognizing All-Star position players, we continue 2025 SoxProspects.com Awards week by shifting our focus to All-Star pitchers. This group includes two lefties who made their big league debuts this season, three trade acquisitions, and one undrafted free agent.
-----
Starting Pitcher: Payton Tolle
Tolle is a first-time SoxProspects.com All-Star after making quite the impression in his first full professional season. Selected with the 50th overall pick in the 2024 draft out of TCU, Tolle opened the 2025 campaign in Greenville but wasted very little time in moving up the organizational ladder. By late June, the 22-year-old left-hander was promoted to Portland. By early August, he was in Worcester. Between the three levels, he forged a 3.04 ERA with 133 strikeouts to 23 walks across 20 appearances (18 starts) spanning 91 2/3 total innings in which he held opponents to a .203 batting average. The 6-foot-6 southpaw was recognized as the Red Sox' Minor League Pitcher of the Year and made his MLB debut on Aug. 29, posting a 6.06 ERA with 19 strikeouts to eight walks in his first seven outings (three starts) and 16 1/3 innings for the big club. Equipped with an upper-90s fastball that can reach triple digits, Tolle is currently ranked as both the top pitching prospect and top overall prospect in the system.

Starting Pitcher: Connelly Early
Early is a SoxProspects.com All-Star for the second time. Following up on a successful first full season in pro ball after being selected in the fifth round of the 2023 draft out of Virginia, the 23-year-old left-hander compiled a 2.60 ERA with 132 strikeouts to 40 walks across 21 total outings (18 starts) spanning 100 1/3 innings between Portland and Worcester in 2025. Opposing hitters batted .197 against Early, who was named an Eastern League All-Star. Like Tolle, Early made his MLB debut late in the year for the Red Sox and pitched to a 2.33 ERA with 29 strikeouts to four walks in four starts (19 1/3 innings) down the stretch. The 6-foot-3 lefty can get up to 97 mph with his heater and is currently ranked as the organization's No. 5 prospect.

Starting Pitcher: Yhoiker Fajardo
Fajardo is a first-time SoxProspects.com All-Star after being acquired from the White Sox for reliever Cam Booser in December. Following up on a pro debut that saw him earn 2024 Dominican Summer League All-Star honors, the 19-year-old right-hander from Venezuela made great strides in his first season stateside. In 19 appearances (17 starts) between the Florida Complex League and Salem, Fajardo forged a 2.25 ERA with 83 strikeouts to 27 walks over 72 total innings in which he held opposing hitters to a .204 batting average. He was named both the Carolina League and SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Month for August. The 6-foot-3 righty features an upper-90s fastball and is currently ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the organization.
-----
Starting Pitcher: John Holobetz
Holobetz is another first-time SoxProspects.com All-Star after being acquired from the Brewers in May as the player to be named later in the April 7 trade of Quinn Priester. Selected by Milwaukee in the fifth round of the 2024 draft out of Old Dominion, Holobetz had been pitching at the Low-A level to begin the 2025 campaign but was elevated to High-A upon switching organizations for the first time in his young career. The 23-year-old right-hander ended up splitting the remainder of the season between Greenville and Portland, posting a 3.04 ERA with 89 strikeouts to 15 walks in 18 outings (16 starts) totaling 100 2/3 innings. Opponents batted .251 against him. Listed at 6-foot-3, Holobetz can reach 96 mph with his fastball and is currently ranked as Boston's No. 21 prospect.
-----
Starting Pitcher: Hayden Mullins
Rounding out the rotation is Mullins, who is now a SoxProspects.com All-Star for the first time. Originally selected in the 12th round of the 2022 draft out of Auburn, Mullins spent most of 2025 with Portland after being promoted from Greenville in early May. From there, the 25-year-old left-hander forged a 2.44 ERA with 96 strikeouts to 48 walks over 18 starts (84 2/3 innings) in which opponents batted just .175 against him. He was recognized as the Sea Dogs' Pitcher of the Year for his efforts. Though command and control remain areas of concern for Mullins, the 6-foot southpaw is still a strong candidate to be added to Boston's 40-man roster for Rule 5 protection purposes in November. For the time being, he is ranked as the No. 22 prospect in the organizational pipeline.
-----
Relief Pitcher: Matt McShane
McShane is another first-time SoxProspects.com All-Star who made both his pro and organizational debut in 2025. The 22-year-old right-hander out of St. Joseph's was selected by Pittsburgh in the 13th round of last summer's draft but was acquired by Boston for reliever Chase Shugart in January. He posted a 2.55 ERA with 56 strikeouts to 11 walks over 21 relief appearances (42 1/3 innings) between Salem and Greenville, in which opponents batted .211 against him, before being shut down by a low back strain in early July. Listed at 6-foot-4, McShane can get up to 96 mph with his heater and is currently ranked as the No. 41 prospect in the system.
-----
Relief Pitcher: Jeremy Wu-Yelland
Wu-Yelland was picked as a Pre-Season All-Star and responded by earning SoxProspects.com All-Star honors for the first time. The 26-year-old left-hander, who was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2020 draft out of Hawaii, split the 2025 campaign between Greenville and Portland. In 25 total outings, he posted a 3.15 ERA with 71 strikeouts to 16 walks over 45 2/3 innings of relief, in which opposing hitters batted .201 against him. Like Mullins, Wu-Yelland can become Rule 5-eligible this winter if he is not added to the Red Sox' 40-man roster in November. At present, the 6-foot-2 lefty tops out at 97 mph with his fastball and is ranked as the organization's No. 51 prospect.
-----
Relief Pitcher: Cooper Adams
Rounding out the list is yet another first-time SoxProspects.com All-Star in Adams, who had somewhat of an under-the-radar season. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Mount St. Mary's last February, Adams pitched for Greenville and Portland in 2025. Between the two affiliates, the 25-year-old right-hander forged a 2.73 ERA with 80 strikeouts to 23 walks over 31 total appearances (one start) spanning 69 1/3 innings. Opponents batted .224 against Adams, who features a 95-98 mph fastball. The 6-foot-3 hurler is currently ranked as the No. 57 prospect in the organization.
