2025 SoxProspects.com All-Stars: Position Players
Welcome to the 2025 SoxProspects.com Awards week! Over the next five days, we will present our annual awards on the news page, recognizing the standout performers from the season. Following the format we've used the last few years, the schedule will be as follows:
Monday: All-Star position players
Tuesday: All-Star pitchers
Wednesday: Graduate of the Year; Homegrown Player of the Year; Ex-Prospect of the Year
Thursday: Rookie of the Year; Breakout Player of the Year; Comeback Player of the Year
Friday: Player of the Year; Pitcher of the Year
We kick things off with the All-Star position players as selected by the SoxProspects.com staff. While we consider factors such as age advancement and opponent quality, these awards recognize the players' in-game performances rather than a commentary on any status as a prospect. The All-Star team is highlighted by four players who made their major league debuts in 2024, two on the position player side.

Catcher: Johanfran Garcia
After a knee injury that limited Garcia to just 14 games in 2024, he re-emerged with a strong 2025 campaign. Garcia started the year on the injured list as he continued to rehab, tuning up with a 12-game stint in the FCL before taking his spot in Greenville. He hit a solid .249/.327/.428 with the Drive, popping nine homers in 46 games. He caught in consecutive games for the first time on July 10 and 11, portending his healthy second half during which he slugged .500. Garcia is currently the 31st-ranked player in the system, highest at the catcher position.

First Base: Blaze Jordan
Jordan gets All-Star recognition for the fourth, and presumably final, time despite having been dealt at the trading deadline. The 2020 third-round pick was a SoxProspects.com All-Star in 2021, 2022, and 2023 before scuffling in 2024 in Double-A Portland. A 7-45 start in a repeat assignment to the Sea Dogs was quickly erased, as the 22-year-old Jordan crushed Eastern League pitching to the tune of .390/.480/.629 over the next 32 games, earning Player of the Month honors in that circuit. He continued to produce following an early-June promotion to Worcester, hitting .298/.341/.480. His .495 slugging percentage across the two levels was the top mark in the organization. Jordan was traded to the Cardinals at the deadline for left-hander Steven Matz.

Second Base: Mikey Romero
Perhaps surprisingly, this is Romero's first time being recognized as a SoxProspects.com All-Star. The 2022 first-round pick burst on the scene that summer with an outstanding debut, but injuries knocked him out for nearly all of 2023 and much of 2024. Healthy and productive in 2025, Romero appeared in 111 games between Portland and Worcester. The 21-year-old hit .254/.315/.440 in 66 games with the Sea Dogs before an August promotion to Triple-A. He showed good power with the WooSox, homering nine times in 45 games, but did see his batting average (.232) and on-base percentage (.276) slip some against the more advanced pitching. Romero finished the year leading the system in doubles (33), extra-base hits (54), and RBI (76), and is ranked 10th in the system.
-----
Third Base: Nate Eaton
Eaton joined the organization as a minor league free agent in the offseason after spending his entire career with the Kansas City Royals. The 28-year-old proved a valuable rotation player, first for Worcester and then with the major league club. He hit .290/.373/.483 with the WooSox while getting starts at every position except first base, catcher, and pitcher. Eaton then went on the appear in 41 games with the major league team, hitting .296/.348/.383 and making two starts in right field in the Wild Card series where he was 2 for 5 with a double and a walk.
-----
Shortstop: Franklin Arias
The 19-year-old Arias emerged in 2025 as the system's top position player prospect after the run of high-profile graduations. Assigned to Salem to begin the year, Arias sprinted out with multi-hit efforts in five of his first six games on his way to a .346/.407/.397 line in what proved to be a very quick stop in the Carolina League. High-A Greenville proved to be a more appropriate challange, with a .265/.329/.380 line with nearly as many walks (32) as strikeouts (35) in 87 games. Arias was then given a sneak-peak of Portland, his likely 2026 assignment, to close out the year. His 133 hits were by far the most in the system, and he also placed second in doubles with 27. He is currently ranked second on the SoxProspects.com board.
-----
Outfield: Jhostynxon Garcia
The second Garcia brother honored as an All-Star, Jhostynxon continued to build on his 2024 breakout all the way to his major league debut. Returning to Portland where he finished the previous campaign, he hit .256/.355/.393 in 33 games and earning a May promotion. Escaping the cold and rain of April in Portland led to a power surge, as Garcia ripped 18 homers in 81 games at Triple-A. He was called up for his major league debut on August 22, starting in right field in a 1-0 win at Yankee Stadium. Garcia appeared in five major league contests, going 1 for 7, before returning to the WooSox. He finished the season as the organizational leader with 21 home runs and 79 runs scored, and he's currently ranked sixth in the system.
-----
Outfield: Roman Anthony
Anthony, who entered the season as baseball's consensus top position player prospect, managed to meet even those lofty expectations. Waiting for his chance behind Boston's crowded outfield, Anthony patiently bludgeoned International League pitching with a .299/.432/.491 line with 10 home runs in 58 games, good for an organization-leading .913 OPS. An injury to Wilyer Abreu opened up a spot for Anthony to be called up on June 9. Anthony starred for his 71 major league games, with a .396 OBP that tied him with Juan Soto for fifth in the majors amont players with at least 300 plate appearances. The three-time SoxProspects.com All-Star signed an extension that could keep him with the Red Sox through 2034.
-----
Outfield: Justin Gonzales
Gonzales put himself on the map in 2024 with an excellent campaign in the Domincan Summer League, and he followed that up with a 2025 breakout stateside. Honored as a SoxProspects.com All-Star at first base last year, Gonzales appeared exclusively in the outfield in 2025. He appeared in just one game with the FCL Sox before moving up to Salem, where he spent the majority of the year. In 81 Carolina League games, Gonzales hit .298/.381/.423 with 23 doubles. He struggled some in an aggressively late-season preview of the South Atlantic League, going 8 for 43 without an extra-base hit, but a strong overall season as an 18-year-old makes him the youngest All-Star selection.
