Cup of Coffee: Garcia, Lopez homer in Greenville; Ingrassia K's 8 in Salem

6/27 Cup of Coffee:
Only two affiliates were in action on Wednesday as a result of Worcester and Portland both getting rained out on the road. Eduardo Lopez (pictured) and Jhostynxon Garcia homered in Greenville's loss to Hickory while Jojo Ingrassia struck out eight in Salem's loss to Fredericksburg.

Worcester Red Sox @ Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (NYY) (PPD)
Bryan Mata was slated to start for the WooSox on Wednesday but their game against the RailRiders was called off due to impending severe weather. It will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m. ET on Thursday.

-----

Portland Sea Dogs @ Binghamton Rumble Ponies (NYM) (PPD)
Wednesday's game between the Sea Dogs and Rumble Ponies was also postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast. It will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET on Friday.

Yordanny Monegro struggled in his start for Greenville, surrendering seven earned runs on eight hits (including two home runs), two walks, and four strikeouts over four innings. Offensively, Allan Castro went 2 for 4 with one double and one run scored. Jhostynxon Garcia crushed a solo shot in the fifth inning for his eighth homer in 21 games with the Drive. Eduardo Lopez clubbed a two-run homer in the eighth inning and added another RBI on a flyout that plated Ronald Rosario in the ninth.

Jojo Ingrassia went four innings in his start for Salem, allowing two earned runs on two hits (one homer), two walks, and eight strikeouts to match a season-high. The lefty finished with 65 pitches (42 strikes), eliciting 15 swings-and-misses. Conor Steinbaugh followed with three scoreless frames out of the bullpen. At the plate, Natanael Yuten and Andy Lugo each went 2 for 4. Yuten tripled and scored one run while Lugo doubled in a run. Antonio Anderson recorded an RBI double of his own in the third inning.

Player of the Day: Eduardo Lopez gets the nod here for driving in a season-high three runs on Wednesday. Over his last five games for Greenville dating back to June 14, the switch-hitting 22-year-old has gone 6 for 20 (.300) with one double, three home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored.
