Cup of Coffee: Seabold gets the win in the season finale
10/4 Cup of Coffee: While all eyes were on the major league game, the WooSox closed out the minor league season with a win over the IronPigs. On behalf of the entire SoxProspects.com Staff, thank you for following the minor league season with us. It was great to get back into the swing after a lost season in 2020.

Nick Pivetta came through as Boston's closer on Sunday, and the other half of the Brandon Workman/Heath Hembree trade earned the win in Worcester's finale. Connor Seabold allowed just one run over five innings, walking two without recording a strikeout. The bullpen was dominant from there, with Kyle Hart, Zack Kelly, Stephen Gonsalves, and John Schreiber combining to allow just one baserunner over the final four innings.
The offense had 16 hits, with five players having multi-hit games. The tone was set at the top with Jarren Duran, who went 3 for 5 with two runs scored. Triston Casas went 2 for 6 with a double, as he finished his two weeks in Worcester with a line of .242/.381/.485. The bottom of the order did most of the damage, with Johan Mieses going 2 for 3 with a double and two walks. Jack López went 3 for 3 with a walk, and Chad De La Guerra went 2 for 4 with a double, walk, and three RBI.

Player of the Day: Johan Mieses tore the cover off the ball with Portland to begin the season, and he earned a quick promotion to Worcester. His numbers tailed off at the Triple-A level, but it was still a good season for the 26-year-old. In 28 at-bats between the Olympics and the Olympic Qualifiers, Mieses hit four home runs. He helped lead the Dominican Republic to a bronze medal. Mieses will be a minor league free agent this offseason, and it will be interesting to see if Boston brings him back as high-minors depth.
