Fall/Winter League Roundup: Willis finishes record-breaking season with a bang

We continue our weekly roundups of the Fall and Winter Leagues, highlighting performances from players in the Red Sox organization. Coverage will continue every Monday into January. For the full list of Red Sox prospects participating in these leagues, check out our Fall & Winter Leagues page, which will be updated continuously through January. This week's roundup covers January 20 through 26.

Dominican Winter League
The Dominican Winter League is quickly winding down as Toros del Este and Tigres del Licey battle in the championship series. Although he appeared for Licey several times earlier in the season, Marco Hernandez hasn't made an appearance for the club since December and is not expected to make an appearance for the remainder of the season.

Australian Winter League
Capping off what has been a dominant regular season, Colin Willis had an excellent week at the plate for Melbourne as he helped the Aces secure a playoff spot. Willis appeared in four games for Melbourne, making 17 plate appearances and notching seven hits. The outfielder contributed a pair of doubles, a home run, and a walk as he drove in a staggering nine runs on the week. Willis finishes the regular season with a brilliant .427/.520/.612 batting line which was good for a 1.131 OPS and set the Melbourne records for batting average, on-base percentage, as well as the ABL record for OPS.

Mexican Pacific League
Although he has yet to make a postseason appearance, Konner Wade and the Venados de Mazatlan are currently battling it out with Culiacan in the Mexican Pacific League Championship series. The series is currently tied up at two games apiece, with game five scheduled for Monday the 27th.
