Ward struck out six batters in five innings of work. The ball flew all over the yard for the affiliates in action. Edgar Corcino hit a home run as part of the win. Nick Decker added a big fly, as did Nicholas Northcut. Second-round pick Matthew Lugo also drilled his first career home run, as did Bramdon Perez.

Edgar Corcino had two hits, both of which drove in runs. He delivered a solo home run in the sixth while adding an RBI double in the second. Keith Curcio also had a pair of base knocks.
