Dominican Professional Baseball League
Playing both shortstop and second base this week, Marco Hernandez (pictured) went 5 for 13 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored as he rebounded from an 0 for 12 performance last week. Appearing in his first games in over a month, Aneury Tavarez went 4 for 7 with a double, walk, and three stolen bases. Free agent Carlos Peguero went 2 for 12 with three walks and two strikeouts, while Rafael Devers did not see any playing time for the third week in a row.
On the mound Jonathan Aro picked up a win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out two, while Roman Mendez, who recently cleared waivers and was assigned to Pawtucket, picked up a blown save when he allowed a go-ahead home run to Miguel Sano. In all, he allowed three runs over 1 2/3 innings, striking out one and walking one.
Venezuelan Professional Baseball League
It was a light week for Red Sox prospects, with Sandy Leon seeing the most game action while going 1 for 9 with two strikeouts. Luis Ysla allowed all three batters he faced to reach base via a hit and two walks, and all three came around to score. Free agent Jean Machi tossed one inning while allowing a walk and a hit.
Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (Puerto Rico)
Christian Vazquez continued to get plenty of at-bats, going 4 for 16 with three strikeouts, a walk, and three runs scored. Henry Ramos went 1 for 10 with a walk and two strikeouts, and Pat Light faced three batters, recording two outs while walking one.

Boston’s squad went 2-2 this week, as they wrapped up the regular season with a 25-15-2 record. Of the players who logged at least 100 at-bats on the season, Raiwinson Lameda’s .314/.371/.491 triple slash stood out above the rest. He led the team in doubles, triples, home runs, and stolen bases. Luis Alexander Basabe made the most of his 61 at-bats, hitting .409/.500/.623, while Lorenzo Cedrola put up a .349/.426/.482 line in his 83 at-bats.
On the mound, Algenis Martinez put up a microscopic 0.33 ERA over 27 2/3 innings, with 25 strikeouts and 13 walks. Hildemaro Requena pitched to a 1.79 ERA over his 40 1/3 innings, with a team-high 31 strikeouts and only 10 walks, though he also hit five batters. Ritzi Mendoza and Angel Padron each kept their ERA below 2.00, with Mendoza finishing at 1.66, and Padron at 1.98.
The team finished a half-game behind Lara in Division C, but they did earn a wild card spot, and they will play Magallanes in a best-of-three series starting tomorrow. Lara will play Caracas in the other series, with Red Sox prospects Deiner Lopez and David Sopilka expected to see some playing time for Lara.
