Cup of Coffee: Pawtucket moves on to Governor's Cup, Salem one win away from glory
9/9 Cup of Coffee: Superb pitching was the story of the day, as both Pawtucket and Salem proved victorious on Sunday. The victory in a decisive game five puts the PawSox back in the Governor's Cup, while Salem's hot streak continued, putting the Red Sox one win away from a title.

Pawtucket pitching allowed just four hits, as the PawSox defeated the Rochester Red Wings (MIN), 3-0. Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger picked up the victory, tossing 5 1/3 innings and allowing just four hits and three walks, while punching out four. Chris Martin, Ryan Rowland-Smith, and Anthony Carter combined to hurl 3 2/3 innings of flawless relief.
The PawSox plated all of their runs in the second, as they rallied with two outs. Jeremy Hazelbaker got things started with a two-out triple. Dan Butler brought Hazelbaker home on an RBI single. After a Justin Henry double, Heiker Meneses laced an RBI single that brought home two.
It was a relatively quiet day for Pawtucket's offense, with the bottom of the order doing all of the damage. The 6-9 spots in the order went 6 for 11 with three RBI, while batters 1-5 were 0 for 15.
Pawtucket now moves on to its second straight Governor's Cup Final. The Triple-A squad will head to Durham to play the Bulls (TB) starting on Tuesday. The PawSox will look to repeat after defeating the Charlotte Knights (CHW) in 2012.

Salem continued to roll, as it defeated the Potomac Nationals (WAS), 4-0 in game two of the Mills Cup. Mike Augliera (pictured) was spectacular. as he twirled 6 2/3 shutout innings and allowed just six hits and a walk, while striking out seven. Madison Younginer picked up the save, as he tossed 2 1/3 shutout innings of relief.
The Red Sox took advantage of Potomac mistakes in the second, plating a run on a bases-loaded walk to Matty Johnson and a wild pitch, giving them a 2-0 advantage. In the fifth, Sean Coyle's RBI triple gave Salem a 3-0 lead. Coyle brought home another run in the seventh, lacing an RBI single that plated Nick Natoli.
The victory for Salem was its tenth straight, as the squad has now won 21 out of their last 24 contests. The Red Sox will return home on Tuesday looking to clinch the Mills Cup on their home field.

Player of the Day: Mike Augliera, who picked up the victory in Salem's 4-0 win over Potomac. Augliera pitched 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball, allowing just six hits and a walk, while striking out seven. The 23 year-old right-hander was 9-6 with a 4.23 ERA in 26 starts this season for the Red Sox.
