Winter League Roundup: January 7-13
The Caribbean League Playoffs continued as the Panama and Australian League regular seasons began to wind down.
Dominican Winter League
Mauro Gomez went 4 for 17 with a home run, double, triple and four RBI.
Tony Pena Jr. was busy this week as he appeared in four games. In 3 1/3 innings of relief, Pena allowed two runs on five hits while striking out three. A clean inning of work on Sunday against Este earned Pena the victory.
Roberto Clemente (Puerto Rico) Baseball League
Jose De La Torre received the loss on Wednesday against Santurce as he allowed a run on one hit in his 2/3 innings of work. In his two other appearances, De La Torre pitched 2.1 clean innings of relief, striking out two.
Jason Urquidez picked up the victory on Saturday against Caguas, hurling 1 inning of relief, allowing a run on two hits while striking out two. In his two other appearances, Urquidez pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing a run on a hit and a walk, striking out two.

Mexican Pacific League
Marco Duarte (pictured) pitched well in his two starts this week. On Monday against Mazatlan, Duarte hurled 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three. Against Guasave on Sunday, Duarte allowed one run on six hits while striking out eight in his six innings of work.
