Scottsdale loses 7-4, brings losing streak to 6 games
10/18 Cup of Coffee: Scottsdale could not handle the Desert Dogs on Monday, losing by a score of 7-4, and bringing its losing streak to 6 games.
Phoenix scored 4 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to take the lead for good. The Scorpions would scratch back but could not get the deficit below 3 runs. Leading the way offensively for Scottsdale were Jean Segura (LAA), who went 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI, and Hank Conger (LAA), who went 2-3 with a walk and an RBI. Tyler Cloyd (PHI) started the game and took the loss. Cloyd allowed 6 hits and 5 runs in 4 innings of work. He walked 1 and struck out 6.
The Red Sox farmhands to appear in this contest were Dan Butler, who went 0-2 with 2 walks, and Will Middlebrooks, who went 0-4.
Scottsdale will attempt to get back in the win column this evening, as they take on Phoenix again at 9:35 EST.
