Hottovy returns from DL to post win
5/18 Cup of Coffee: Pawtucket had their game against Scranton/WB rained out yesterday.
Portland split a doubleheader with New Britain. They lost the first game 8-4. Dustin Richardson went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and a BB. He had 4 Ks. Carlos Vasquez threw an inning allowing 4 runs on 4 hits. He had a K. Zach Daeges went 2 for with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. In the second game, Tommy Hottovy made his return form the DL and had a strong start. He went 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. He had 2 Ks. Chad Rhoades threw a scoreless inning allowing 2 hits. He had a K. Beau Vaughn pitched the final inning retiring the three hitters he faced. He had 2 Ks. Ryan Khoury went 2 for 3 with a run scored and 3 RBI. Mickey Hall went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Despite pounding out 15 hits, Lancaster lost in a slugfest to Bakersfield 11-10. Tony Bajoczky went 3.1 innings giving up 8 runs on 12 hits. He had 2 Ks. Blake Maxwell threw 2.2 frames and did not allow a run. He gave up 3 hits and 2 BB. He had a K. Jason Blackey pitched the final 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Jason Place went 3 for 6 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Jorge Jimenez went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI. Lars Anderson went 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Daniel Nava went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Argenis Diaz went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs.
Greenville defeated Savannah 6-2. Felix Doubront earned his 5th win of the season going 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits and a BB. He had 2 Ks. Chad Povich pitched the final 3 innings and did not allow a run. He gave up 2 hits and a BB. He fanned 3. Kris Negron went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a RBI. Mike Jones went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Luis Exposito went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI.
