Bell goes 4 for 5 in Sea Dog win

Portland defeated New Hampshire 9-5. Matt Goodson went 4.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 BB. He had 2 Ks. Daniel Haigwood threw 1.2 scoreless frames giving up 1 hit and 1 BB. He had 1 K. Daniel Bard (1-0) blew the save but picked up the win. He went 2 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 BB. He had 3 Ks. Beau Vaughn pitched a scoreless 9th allowing 1 hit. He had 1 K. Aaron Bates went 2 for 4 with a home run, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Bubba Bell went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Ryan Khoury went 2 for 4 with a RBI.
Stockton downed Lancaster 6-2 in the Cal League. Brian Steinocher (1-1) went 3.2 frames allowing 4 runs on 4 hits and 4 BB. He had 1 K. Scott Lonergan threw 3.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and a BB. He had 1 K. Blake Maxwell threw 2 perfect innings recording 2 Ks. Reid Engel went 1 for 4 with a home run.
Charleston hammered Greenville 20-2. Jose Alvarez (2-6) threw 3.1 innings and gave up 6 runs on 6 hits and 2 BB. He had 1 K. Chad Povich retired 1 batter and gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 2 BB. Kyle Fernandes threw 2 innings giving up 7 runs on 5 hits and 2 BB. He had 2 Ks. Bryce Cox went 1.1 frames and did not allow a run on 1 hit. He had 2 Ks. Ryne Miller threw a scoreless inning allowing 1 hit and a BB. Catcher Matt Cooney pitched the final inning and gave up 1 run on 1 hit and 2 BB. The Drive had only 3 hits in the game with Oscar Tejeda going 1 for 4 with a RBI.
