Lowell returns, Corey DFA'd
The Red Sox have activated 3B Mike Lowell from the disabled list and have correspondingly designated RHP Bryan Corey for assignment for the second time this month. Corey was re-signed April 23 as a minor league free agent after having been earlier DFA'd for a returning RHP Mike Timlin and was recalled to Boston after RHP Justin Masterson made his spot start and was returned to Portland April 25. His worked 1.2 innings against Tampa on Friday (4/25) allowing 2 hits and walking two, while striking one in his only action since returning to the Sox. Lowell is listed in the starting line up for tonight's game against Toronto.
