Red Sox ink Sean Casey
The Boston Red Sox have come to terms with lefthanded hitting first baseman Sean Casey in a move to add depth to the bench. The deal is one year, $800,000 and pending a physical. The 11 year veteran brings a .301 career average into 2008 after spending the 2007 season with the Detroit Tigers. One of the more personable players around baseball, Casey is expected to be a great addition to the Sox clubhouse as well as serve as the backup behind Kevin Youkilis.
