Dustin Pedroia wins Larry Doby Award
Red Sox rookie 2B Dustin Pedroia took home the Larry Doby Award, sponsored by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. The Larry Doby Award honors the top rookies in each league. Pedroia will be honored along with all of the other winners at an event in Kansas City on January 12th. Red Sox fans hope this is the first of the award announcements for Pedroia after a spectacular rookie season which saw him overcome an extremely tough April to become a key catalyst in the 2007 Boston Red Sox World Series quest.
