Pitcher of the Month, August: Richardson
Lancaster LHP Dustin Richardson was on a roll following his August 14 promotion from Greenville, going 4-0 in four starts and holding the opposition to a 2.74 ERA, and was named SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Month of August. Richardson allowed 14 hits over 23 innings pitched with Lancaster, a .173 batting average, striking out 25 and issuing five walks. Prior to his promotion, Richardson made two starts for Greenville in August (1 & 6), going 0-2 with a 3.24 ERA in 8.1 IP (3 ER), allowing nine hits and four walks, while striking out eight. Richardson, 23, was a fifth round pick in 2005 out of Texas Tech, and previously was named SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Month for April.
