Buchholz wins AL Player of the Week
In recognition of his no-hitter against Baltimore on Saturday night, RHP Clay Buchholz has been named American League Player of the Week for the week ending September 2. He is the seventh Red Sox player to be so named in 2007. This afternoon Terry Francona announced that Buchholz will primarily be used in "structured innings" out of the bullpen in order to manage his innings workload for the remainder of the season; however, Francona would not foreclose the option that Buchholz could make another start at some point during the remainder of the season.
