On Thursday, Syracuse defeated Pawtucket 4-2. Charlie Zink started and took the loss. He went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits and 4 BB. He had 4 Ks. Javier Lopez went 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed 1 hit and 1 BB. He had 1 K. Willie Harris went 2 for 4. New Britain defeated Portland 5-1. Frank Brooks started and took the loss. He went 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 BB. He had 9 Ks. Rusty Tucker went 1/3 of an inning. He gave up 3 runs on 2 hits and 1 BB. Brandon Moss and Dusty Brown each went 1 for 3. Jacoby Ellsbury went 1 for 4 and scored a run. Wilmington blanked Myrtle Beach 6-0. Clay Buchholz started and went 6 innings to pick up the win. He did not give up a run on just 2 hits. He did not walk a batter while striking out 10. Justin Sturge pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief. He allowed 2 hits and had 2 Ks. Jed Lowrie went 2 for 3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. John Otness went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Iggy Suarez went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.
