5/17 Cup of Coffee
Last night Pawtucket fell to Buffalo 6-2. Trent Durrington went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. Matt Ginter took the loss going 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits while giving up 1 BB and striking out 4. Trenton edged Portland 2-1 in 11 innings. David Murphy went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. Chad Spann went 2 for 4 with a home run. David Pauley threw six scoreless innings on 6 hits. He walked 3 and struck out 5. Edgar Martinez pitched 2 1/3 innings of hitless relief. He did not walk a batter and struck out 2. Devern Hansack was tagged with the loss going 1 inning and allowing 1 run on 1 hit and a walk. Wilmington split a doubleheader with Lynchburg taking the first 7-3. Jeff Corsaletti went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Claudio Arias went 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI. Jose Vaquendo started and went 4 innings. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits. He gave up 5 BB and recorded 1 K. Justin Sturge got the win going 3 scoreless innings of relief. He did not walk abatter and had 1 K. Lynchburg won the second game 1-0. Wilmington's Ian Bladergroen and Mickey Hall were both 1 for 3. Matt Goodson started and went 5 innings. He did not allow a run giving up 4 hits and 3 BB. He struck out 5. Jason Richardson took the loss giving up 1 run on 2 hits and a walk in 3 1/3 innings of relief. He had 4 Ks. Greenville got by Lexington 5-3. Yahmed Yema went 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI. Chris Turner went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI. Jay Johnson and Mark Wagner were each 2 for 4. Mike Rozier started and went 5 1/3 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He walked 1 and truck out 4.
