Sea Dogs to face Trenton

The 2005 Eastern League regular season concluded yesterday, and Portland learned that it will be facing the Trenton Thunder in the Northern Divisional. Trenton, the AA affiliate of the NY Yankees, was Boston's AA affiliate as recently as 2002. The two teams will face of in a best-of-five series beginning on Wednesday at 6 pm at Hadlock Field. Jon Lester will face Trenton's Jeff Karsten. This is the first playoff appearance in eight years for the Sea Dogs
Northern Divisional Schedule:
Game 1: Wednesday, September 7, Trenton at Portland, 6:00
Game 2: Thursday, September 8, Trenton at Portland, 6:00
Game 3: Friday, September 9, Portland at Trenton, 7:05
Game 4: (if necessary) Saturday, September 10, Portland at Trenton, 6:05
Game 5: (if necessary) Sunday, September 11, Trenton at Portland, 6:00

The victor will move on to face the winner of the Southern Divisional which pits the Altoona Curve (Pitt.) vs. the Akron Aeros (Cle.). The Eastern League Championship series is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 13.
