Cruz, Jr. traded to the Dodgers for PTBNL
The Red Sox traded recently-acquired outfielder Jose Cruz, Jr. Tuesday night to the Los Angeles Dodgers for a player to be named later. Cruz, who went 3 for 12 (.250) in his brief stint with the Sox, was designated for assignment on Monday to make room for Kevin Youkilis. Cruz was originally acquired by the Red Sox on July 30 for former Red Sox prospects Kenny Perez and Kyle Bono after being designated for assignment by the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 27. On the season, Cruz hit a combined .215 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI.
