Action was light last night due to the rain that was a factor in the Southern States. Lets begin with the International League, Pawtucket lost to Ottawa by a score of 5-2. Anastacio Martinez gave up 4 runs on 9 hits in 5 innings to take the loss. He struck out 5 Ottawa batters.On a postive note, Cla Meredith pitched a hitless inning of relief. Shawn Wooten went 2 for 4 with a run scored while Adam Stern was 1 for 1. He is hitting .321 with the PawSox. Altoona edged Portland 3-2. The Sea Dogs magic number to ensure a playoff berth remains at one. Brandon Moss had a perfect night at the plate going 4 for 4 with a home run and 2 runs scored. David Murphy was 1 for 3 with a walk. David Pauley took the loss allowing all 3 runs in 6 inings of work on 7 hits. The Wilmington-Salem game was suspended due to rain in the third inning with Salem ahead 2-1. The game will be completed before the regularly scheduled game on Thursday. The Greenville/ Savannah game was postponed due to rain.Lowell defeated Vermont 6-4. Tim Cox got the win in relief going 3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 4 Ks. Blake Maxwell got the save throwing 1 hitless inning. Keith Foulke continued his rehab assignment going 1 inning. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 3. Jay Johnson was 4 for 4 with a run and a RBI. Jed Lowrie went 3 for 5 with a run scored and 2 RBI.
