Cup of Coffee: Rain pushes back Eyanson's Portland debut, Nunez walks it off in Salem
5/10 Cup of Coffee: A wet Saturday across the Northeast resulted in just a trio of games being played while also pushing back the Double-A debut of Anthony Eyanson. In Greenville, Marcus Phillips took the mound for the Drive, Starlyn Nunez (pictured) walked it off for Salem, and the Florida Complex League squad brought the bats in its win while Carter Rasmussen looked stellar.

Worcester Red Sox vs. Scranton-Wilkes Barre Railriders (NYY) Postponed
Saturday's game between Worcester and Scranton Wilkes-Barre was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up at a later date.
-----
Portland Sea Dogs vs. New Hampshire Fisher Cats (TOR) Cancelled
Portland's matchup with New Hampshire was washed out as well. Unlike in Worcester, the game will not be made up. While Anthony Eyanson was scheduled to make his Portland debut, it appears he will wait an extra day before taking the mound for the first time at the Double-A level.

Greensboro Grasshoppers (PIT) 10, Greenville Drive 4
It was a tough night for the Greenville pitching staff, allowing five home runs on its way to dropping its second in a row. Marcus Phillips took the mound for his fifth start of the year and struggled in his 2 1/3 innings. The right-hander surrendered five runs on six hits (two home runs) with a pair of walks and three strikeouts to bring his ERA on the season to 7.64. Shea Sprague relieved Phillips and allowed four runs (two earned runs) in 3 1/3 frames, and Calvin Bickerstaff got the final eight outs.
Although Greenville fell behind early, Antonio Anderson and Henry Godbout hit home runs in the sixth inning. Anderson's blast was his first of the year, and Godbout's two-run shot was his sixth of the year and brings his OPS to .912. Justin Gonzales walked three times, and Mason White reached base three times as well with a hit and two walks.

Salem RidgeYaks 7, Delmarva Shorebirds (BAL) 4
Starlyn Nunez was the hero, belting a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to power the RidgeYaks to victory. Leading 4-3 in the top of the inning, Harry Blum blew the save with a run to knot the game entering the bottom of the frame. After back-to-back fielding errors from Delmarva allowed D'Angelo Ortiz and Anderson Fermin to reach base, Nunez slugged an 0-1 pitch into right-center field to give Salem the win. The home run was part of a 2-for-5 night for the centerfielder. Luke Heyman got the offense started with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first, his fifth big fly of the season. Ortiz joined Nunez as the only other RidgeYaks hitter to record multiple hits, adding a single and triple to his performance.

Six hitters in the Red Sox lineup recorded multi-hit outings as the team registered 14 knocks on its way to the win. Edwin Darville led the starting nine with a 3-for-5 afternoon, including a two-run triple, as well as a pair of singles to go along with his three RBIs. Dorian Soto, Franklin Primera, Louis Andujar, Liosward Marin and Jhoan Peguero joined Darville with multiple hits.
On the mound, Carter Rasmussen impressed once again in his second start of the season. Following Jakson Gamboa's 2 1/3 scoreless innings, the Red Sox's 14th-round pick from 2025 continued to hold the Twins off the scoreboard with 2 1/3 frames of his own while walking two and striking out six. Through his first 4 1/3 innings of professional baseball, Rasmussen has not allowed a hit and has struck out nine hitters. Tejahari Wilson and Denison Sanchez each pitched an inning and Jeison Payano closed out the game by recording the final out .

Player of the Day: In the most dramatic win of the day, Starlyn Nunez is undoubtedly the winner of the award after his heroics in Salem. The centerfielder's walk-off three-run home run in the RidgeYaks' 7-4 victory was the difference in his 2-for-5 night. Nunez's slashline through his first 27 games of the season is .226/.323/.406. He is currently the 52nd-ranked prospect at SoxProspects.
