Fall/Winter League Roundup: Perales continues to build up in the AFL; Neely makes impressive relief outing
It was an active week for Red Sox minor leaguers, as seven of the eight players that Boston sent to the Arizona Fall League appeared in games. The week was highlighted by third-ranked prospect Luis Perales' longest outing of the season, though he continues to be hit hard in the offensively-charged environment in the AFL. A pair of Red Sox prospects also got into game action in the Dominican Professional Baseball League.

Luis Perales' return to the mound after missing nearly the entire 2025 regular season continues to be one of the most interesting storylines among Red Sox prospects in the AFL. Perales started for the Salt River Rafters on Sunday and made his longest outing of the fall, going 2 2/3 innings and throwing 54 pitches. However, he struggled as he allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out two batters and walking one. This start raised Perales' ERA to 6.75 through eight innings in the AFL.
2024 third-round pick Brandon Neely (pictured) was impressive over two scoreless frames on Wednesday, striking out three and walking one batter. The right-hander has pitched to a 9.45 ERA through 6 2/3 innings in his first taste of professional action. Jojo Ingrassia drew the start for Salt River on Thursday and surrendered four runs in 1 2/3 innings, bringing his ERA up to 13.50 in 6 AFL innings. Isaac Stebens made a pair of scoreless appearances last Tuesday and Wednesday, tossing 1 1/3 innings total. Jay Allmer did not appear in a game over the last week.
On the offensive side, Stanley Tucker continued his strong run in the AFL. Over the past week, Tucker started five games at second base and went 7 for 18 with a double, five runs scored, and four RBI. He is now slashing .333/.451/.405 in 42 at bats. Nelly Taylor, the top-ranked Red Sox minor leaguer in the AFL (#24 in the system), was 2 for 9 with three walks in three games over the last week as he began to pull himself out of an early slump that has seen him hit .095 thus far in the AFL. Johanfran Garcia was 4 for 17 with a homer and a double last week and he is now hitting .231/.333/.359 this fall.
In the latest episode of the SoxProspects.com Podcast, Ian and Chris Clegg broke down how Boston's 2025 class of Arizona Fall Leaguers have been performing.

Dominican Professional Baseball League
Luis Guerrero made one more appearance with the Leones del Escogido over the last week, tossing a scoreless inning, and he now has allowed a run while striking out two and walking a batter through his first two appearances in the Dominican Professional Baseball League this winter. Catcher Ronaldo Hernandez was 1 for 3 over the past week and is now hitting .417/.462/.500 through 12 at bats. The Red Sox signed Hernandez to a minor league contract in July and he spent time in Portland and Worcester over the final months of the season.

The only Red Sox minor leaguer in the Venezuelan Winter League is Eybersson Polanco, who did not appear in a game over the last week. He allowed two runs in two innings in his only appearance with the Aguilas del Zulia.
