Cup of Coffee: Travieso, Bello deal in FCL; Ramos homers in DSL


7/22 Cup of Coffee:
Boston's affiliates went 3-0 on Monday. Jesus Travieso (pictured) and Jose Bello combined for seven scoreless innings in the FCL Red Sox' shutout win over the FCL Braves. Elsewhere, Hector Ramos and Franklin Primera, fresh off playing in Sunday's Dominican Summer League All-Star Game, homered and drove in a pair of runs, respectively.

Jesus Travieso got the start and allowed just one hit, no walks, one hit by pitch, and three strikeouts over 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Fellow righty Jose Bello followed suit with 2 2/3 scoreless, one-hit frames of relief to see the shutout bid through to its completion. At the plate, Tavano Baker doubled in two runs with his only hit of the day. Justin Barry also doubled, scored two runs, and drew one walk as part of a 1-for-2 afternoon. D'Angelo Ortiz went 1 for 2 with two RBIs, one run scored, and two walks. Avinson Pinto drove in one run, scored twice, stole two bases, and drew one walk. Anderson Fermin scored one run, stole one base, and drew two walks.

Dani Richar went 2 2/3 innings in his start for the Blue squad, allowing two earned runs on four hits, three walks, and four strikeouts. Yander Bonaci, who struck out five and picked up the win, and Ranci Castillo combined for 6 1/3 scoreless frames of relief. Offensively, Eliezer Alfonzo went 2 for 3 with one RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and one stolen base. Hector Ramos went 1 for 4 with a two-run blast for his fourth home run of the season. Harold Rivas scored two runs, stole two bases, and drew one walk. Emmanuel Figuereo and Jostin Ogando both doubled, with the former adding one RBI and one walk.

Berny Ortiz went four innings in his start for the Red squad, allowing two earned runs on two hits, four walks, and two strikeouts. Charlie Zink, who notched his first professional win, Jose Golindano, and Erickson Ettien combined for 3 2/3 scoreless, no-hit frames of relief. At the plate, Franklin Primera stayed hot by going 2 for 3 with one double, two RBIs, two runs scored, and one walk. Miguel Welch went 2 for 4 with one triple, one run scored, two stolen bases, and one walk. Alexander Alzi and Givian Sirvania both went 2 for 5, with the former doubling and driving in two runs and the latter driving in one run, scoring another, and stealing one base.

Player of the Day: Jesus Travieso gets the nod after putting together another impressive outing on Monday. The 18-year-old Venezuelan has pitched to a 2.33 ERA with 52 strikeouts to 25 walks through 12 appearances (10 starts) spanning 39 innings for the FCL Red Sox this season. Opposing hitters are batting .194 against Travieso, who is currently ranked as the organization's No. 39 prospect.
