2025 Draft Day 2 Recap: Rounds 11-20


Unlike past installments, the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft took place over two days instead of three. While Rounds 11-20 were typically reserved for that third and final day, they accompanied Rounds 4-10 on Monday. With that, here are brief summaries of who the Red Sox took with their 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th-round selections:

11. Barrett Morgan, RHP, Cowley College (KS)
Morgan (pictured) was taken out of Cowley College, a community college in Arkansas City, Kans., with the 328th overall pick. The 20-year-old righty from Stillwater, Okla., appeared in 16 games for the Tigers this past spring and posted a 0.42 ERA (0.75 WHIP) with 40 strikeouts to just four walks over 21 1/3 innings of relief en route to earning First Team All-KJCCC honors. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Morgan features a fastball that reaches 95 mph and a mid-70s curveball. He is currently committed to transfer to Texas A&M for what would be his junior season.

12. Ethan Walker, LHP, Kentucky
Walker was taken out of the University of Kentucky with the 358th overall pick. The 20-year-old lefty spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Longwood University before transferring ahead of his junior campaign. In 14 appearances (nine starts) for the Wildcats this past spring, Walker posted a 4.08 ERA (1.32 WHIP) with 49 strikeouts to 16 walks over 46 1/3 innings. He was also named to the Clemson All-Regional Team. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, the athletic lefty averages 91.5 mph and tops out at 95 mph with his fastball while mixing in a slider, changeup, curveball, and cutter.

13. Jack Winnay, 1B/OF, Wake Forest (NC)
Winnay was taken out of Wake Forest University with the 388th overall pick. The 22-year-old was born in Michigan but calls Newton, Mass., his hometown. He attended Belmont Hill School before taking his talents to Wake Forest. As a junior this past spring, the right-handed hitter slashed .296/.416/.571 with 13 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 65 RBIs, 55 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 36 walks, and 48 strikeouts in 60 games (282 plate appearances) for the Demon Deacons. Defensively, he saw most of his playing time at first base but also logged innings in both outfield corners. He is ranked No. 384 in Baseball America's Top 500.

14. Carter Rasmussen, RHP, Wofford (SC)
Rasmussen was taken out of Wofford College with the 418th overall pick. The 21-year-old righty from Justin, Texas, spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Brown University before transferring to Wofford for his junior campaign. This past spring, Rasmussen forged a 3.21 ERA (1.20 WHIP) with 63 strikeouts to 16 walks over 19 appearances (one start) spanning 47 2/3 innings for the Terriers. He held opposing hitters to a .229 batting average and was named to the All-Southern Conference Second Team. The 6-foot-5, 239-pound hurler averages 92.5 mph and tops out at 97 mph with his fastball while also mixing in a cutter, curveball, slider, and changeup. He spent part of his summer pitching for the Culpepper Cavaliers of the Valley League.

15. Skylar King, OF, West Virginia
King was taken out of West Virginia University with the 448th overall pick. The South Carolina-born 21-year-old has spent three seasons with the Mountaineers and has past experience in the Cape Cod Baseball League as well. The speedy left-handed hitter batted .291/.415/.398 with nine doubles, two triples, three home runs, 32 RBIs, 42 runs scored, 13 stolen bases, 29 walks, and 29 strikeouts in 59 games (258 plate appearances) as a junior this past spring. He saw all of his playing time come in center field, though he is familiar with the corners.

16. Jason Gilman, RHP, Kean U (NJ)
Gilman was taken out of Kean University with the 478th overall pick. The 22-year-old lefty from New Jersey earned 2025 Division III National Pitcher of the Year honors after posting a 2.08 ERA (0.98 WHIP) with 150 strikeouts to 32 walks in 15 outings (14 starts) spanning 112 1/3 innings for the Cougars as a senior this past spring. Opposing hitters batted just .195 against Gilman, who stands at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds.

17. Patrick Galle, RHP, Mississippi
Galle was taken out of Ole Miss with the 508th overall pick as a draft-eligible sophomore who redshirted as a true freshman in 2022. In eight relief appearances for the Rebels this past spring, the 21-year-old righty from Biloxi posted a 9.00 ERA (2.14 WHIP) with nine strikeouts to two walks over seven innings. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Galle averages 96.4 mph and tops out at 99.2 mph with his fastball while also mixing in a cutter and slider. He is currently pitching for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

18. Cade Fisher, LHP, Auburn (AL)
Fisher was taken out of Auburn University with the 538th overall pick. The 21-year-old lefty spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Florida (where he was named to the 2023 SEC All-Freshman Team) before transferring to Auburn ahead of his junior campaign. In 14 outings (10 starts) for the Tigers this past spring, Fisher forged a 4.68 ERA (1.44 WHIP) with 54 strikeouts to 23 walks over 42 1/3 innings. At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, the projectable righty averages 87.3 mph and reaches 94 mph with his fastball. He also features a slider and an occasional changeup.

19. Fabian Bonilla, OF, Christian Military Academy (PR)
Bonilla was taken out of Christian Military Academy in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, with the 568th overall pick. The recently turned 18-year-old is the first and only prep prospect in Boston's 2025 draft class. A right-handed hitter, Bonilla is listed at a projectable 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He is currently committed to playing collegiately at Florida SouthWestern State College.

20. Garrison Sumner, RHP, Brigham Young U (UT)
Sumner was taken out of Brigham Young University with the 598th overall pick in the 2025 draft. The 21-year-old righty began his collegiate career at Utah and spent his sophomore season at Salt Lake Community College before transferring to BYU ahead of his junior campaign. In 14 outings (11 starts) for the Cougars this past spring, Sumner posted an 8.32 ERA and 1.72 WHIP with 60 strikeouts to 24 walks over 61 2/3 innings. The 6-foot-3, 194-pound hurler averages 90.3 mph and tops out at 95.5 mph with his fastball while also mixing in a slider and changeup. He is the 15th and final pitcher to be selected by Boston.
