Cup of Coffee: Anthony records three hits, Sandlin strikes out six
4/12 Cup of Coffee: Friday was a winless night for the Red Sox affiliates, as Worcester and Portland lost while Greenville and Salem's games were postponed due to rain. Roman Anthony (pictured) turned in a three-hit performance but Worcester was otherwise unable to generate much offense. Brayan Bello continued his rehab assignment with the WooSox, tossing four solid innings but taking the loss. David Sandlin struck out six in an impressive start for Portland but the Sea Dogs fell in 10 innings against New Hampshire.

Brayan Bello made the third start of his rehab assignment, throwing 64 pitches as he builds up to join the Red Sox rotation. Bello allowed three runs (two earned) in four innings, striking out five batters. Columbus hit the WooSox bullpen hard after Bello's departure, scoring four runs (one earned) off Cooper Criswell and two more off Brendan Cellucci. Jacob Webb was the only Worcester pitcher to put together a scoreless performance. Roman Anthony had a fantastic game out of the leadoff slot in Worcester's lineup, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and driving in both of Worcester's runs. Outside of Anthony, it was a forgettable performance for the WooSox bats.

The Sea Dogs got off to an early lead on a pair of sacrifice flies by Jhostynxton Garcia and Luis Ravelo but could not hang on, falling in 10 innings against New Hampshire. First baseman Blaze Jordan had a solid performance on an otherwise quiet night, going 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Eighth-ranked prospect David Sandlin flashed his swing-and-miss potential, striking out six batters in four innings. Sandlin allowed one run on two hits and three walks. Jack Anderson struck out five over two dominant innings of relief but was tagged with the loss after allowing the automatic runner to score in the 10th inning. Zach Bryant limited the damage, despite hitting the first batter he faced, but the Sea Dogs were unable to even the score in the bottom half of the inning.

The suspended game will resume at 3:35pm with Greenville leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth. The second game is scheduled to begin at 6:05pm.

Player of the Day: While it was a night to forget for the WooSox in general, Roman Anthony provided the fans with some excitement. Anthony drove in Worcester's only two runs of the night on a double in the fifth inning. Anthony's electric power potential was on full display, as he smoked all three of his hits with exit velocities of 103.8, 103.7, and 107.6 mph. In 11 games with Worcester this season, Anthony is now hitting .237/.396/.500 with a pair of home runs.
