Inman is latest to be reassigned to minor league camp

Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal is reporting that right-handed relief pitcher Will Inman has been reassigned to minor league camp. Inman has appeared in 3 games this spring, throwing 5.0 innings and allowing 3 runs on 7 hits with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Inman had strong strikeout numbers last year in the Padres organization for Triple-A Tuscon, collecting 120 punchouts in 117.0 innings. Unfortunately, the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League did not do the 25-year-old any favors as he finished the year with a 6.15 ERA and 1.68 WHIP. He was acquired by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent in November.

According to the Red Sox press release, this move brings the total amount of players in major league camp to 53, of which 35 are from the 40-man roster, two are on the 60-day disabled list, and 16 are non-roster invitees.
