Players of the Week, May 10-16: Reymond Fuentes and Adam Mills
The 19-year-old Fuentes, who edged Jorge Jimenez by just one vote, posted a slash line of .435/.458/.565 for Greenville. The speedy center fielder stole 5 bases on the week while also collecting a double and a triple. In Greenville's victory over Lexington on Sunday, Fuentes went 4-for-5, finishing just a home run shy of the cycle.
Mills, 25, took home the honors with a two-start week that saw him yield just one earned run. Voting for Pitcher of the Week was also down to the wire, with Mills beating out Ryan Pressly by three votes. Mills was 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA, giving up just 5 hits and 3 walks in 12.0 innings pitched. After struggling in his three previous starts, the right hander fired 7.0 innings and allowed just one unearned run against Gwinnett on May 11. He followed up that performance with a 5.0 inning outing in which he allowed just 1 run on 2 hits.
