Cup of Coffee: Priester strikes out seven; Anthony fills up the box score

9/22 Cup of Coffee:
The WooSox came out on top in the penultimate game of the minor league season for the affiliates. Roman Anthony reached base three more times, and Quinn Priester is doing all he can to earn a cup of coffee with the big league club before the season ends.

Roman Anthony pushed his OPS to an even 1.000 with another two-hit game. Anthony went 2 for 3 with a double and a steal out of the leadoff spot. Corey Rosier (pictured) laced his first two triples of the year, and Kyle Teel went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Quinn Priester got the start and notched 17 swinging strikes over five innings. He struck out seven and walked one over five innings of two-run ball. The win went to Chase Shugart who tossed a scoreless sixth inning, and Yohan Ramírez earned the save as he struck out five over the final two frames.

Player of the Day: Corey Rosier entered the day without a triple over 292 plate appearances but hit two in four at-bats on Saturday. His second triple gave the WooSox the lead in the seventh. Rosier was acquired from San Diego with Eric Hosmer in the Jay Groome trade, and the 25-year-old is in his second stint with Worcester. A solid 2023 season saw him move into the back end of the system's top-60 rankings, but he fell out this year as he has struggled to a .539 OPS.
