Cup of Coffee: Anthony, Teel lead Worcester to 14-9 win

The Sox got off to a very fast start and did not look back. Roman Anthony walked to start the game, then Chase Meidroth and Mickey Gasper followed with singles. Kyle Teel was next with a two-run double to left field. Anthony would go on to add three singles, two RBI, and another run scored. Teel and Gasper each added singles as well. Bobby Dalbec and Jamie Westbrook were each 1 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored. Jason Alexander started and allowed five runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings, but it was enough to pick up the win. He struck out three and only walked one. Luis Garcia and Lucas Sims each began rehab assignments in this one and each tossed a scoreless frame. Neither walked a batter and Sims punched out a pair. Wyatt Olds finished it off with no earned runs allowed in the ninth inning to go along with two strikeouts.
At 42-28 in the second half, the Sox are 3 1/2 games behind Columbus for the lead in the International League.
Player of the Day: Roman Anthony reached base at least four times for the sixth time since being called up to Worcester. The top prospect in baseball is now hitting .339/.441/.508 in 30 games with the WooSox. He has now hit safely in 12 of his 13 games in the month of September, while reaching safely in all 13.
