Deybi Salcedo walked the tightrope in his stateside debut, stranding six baserunners in three innings but escaping without allowing a run. He gave up two hits and walked four, striking out a pair. Ovis Portes followed with three scoreless frames, allowing just one hit and one walk, striking out four. Willian Colmaneres fired a hitless seventh the pick up the save. Player of the Day: Ovis Portes earned the victory in his first US appearance after spending the last two summers in the Dominican complex. Portes is attempting to become the first major leaguer from Antigua and Barbuda to appear in the major leagues. Hailing from the capital city of St. John's, he signed as an international free agent to a $25,000 bonus in March 2022.
