Huegel and Meoli join SoxProspects ownership team

SoxProspects, LLC is pleased to announce the additions of Matt Huegel and Jon Meoli as shareholders and Members of the LLC. SoxProspects, LLC owns SoxProspects.com and all related media, including SoxProspects News and the SoxProspects Forum.

Huegel, who is also being promoted to managing editor, joined the staff in March 2010 as a staff writer, and has worked his way up in various roles for the website. In his role as managing editor of the SoxProspects News page, Huegel helps oversee both the editing and the scheduling and development processes for much of the page's content. For the past two seasons or so, he has worked closely with Chris Mellen in editing his News page reports, including all of the last two runs of Prospect Previews, which are published three times a week during spring training. Last season, Huegel proved invaluable in the role of beat writer in Pawtucket, covering the team on its run to the Governors’ Cup. He also contributed several columns to ESPNBoston this season as part of that site's ongoing partnership with SoxProspects. He has been a regular on the SoxProspects podcast and also appeared on PawSox Insider.

Meoli joined the SoxProspects staff as part of the Cup of Coffee team in early 2010, and after expanding his role slightly that season, was promoted to columnist at season's end. After overseeing the site's interview schedule and overseeing the site's transition to a strictly in-person interview format, Meoli was promoted to his current role of senior columnist in the fall of 2011. A Baltimore resident, he has since used his proximity to the Red Sox's southern affiliates to expand the site's coverage of Salem and Greenville. His regular appearances at the ballpark when affiliates visit the Mid-Atlantic have made him a trusted and familiar face amongst the players, and that access gives his columns an unrivaled mix of scouting insight, coach, and player input. In addition to his regular columns, Meoli contributes scouting notes, player interviews, and minor edits to the news page. Like Huegel, he has also written several pieces for ESPNBoston's Red Sox blog. Meoli is a reporter for the Towson Times, a weekly newspaper in the Baltimore Sun Media Group, and also contributes to the Sun's Orioles minor league coverage.

Congratulations and welcome to both!
