Players of the Week, June 4-10: Xander Bogaerts & Noe Ramirez
In one of the more lopsided outcomes in the history of the poll, Salem's Xander Bogaerts garnered 91.2 percent of votes cast earning him SoxProspects.com Player of the Week honors and is joined by Pitcher of the Week, Greenville's Noe Ramirez.
Bogaerts posted a .417/.517/.833 (10 for 24) line in eight games last week with three home runs, scoring eight runs, batting in six and taking four bases on balls. Bogaerts capped the week with a 3 for 3 performance, including a home run, double and a walk at Potomac (WAS) on Sunday, June 10. On the season Bogaerts is batting .288/.360/.482 with eight home runs, 15 doubles and two triples in 222 at-bats over 60 games. Making his professional debut at Hickory (TEX) June 10 Ramirez worked five perfect innings, striking out five. Ramirez, a fourth round pick out of Cal State Fullerton in last year's draft, began the season in extended spring training. He is currently the 47th ranked prospect in the organization by SoxProspects.com.
