Matzusaka set to begin rehab assignment with Salem on Monday

According to WEEI's Alex Speier on Twitter, right-hander Daisuke Matzusaka is set to begin a rehab assignment on Monday with the High-A Salem Red Sox. Matzusaka is expected to be on a strict 75 pitch limit.
The 31-year-old Matzusaka will be making his first professional appearance since he underwent successful Tommy John surgery last summer. In 8 appearances (7 starts) last season, Matzusaka went 3-3 with a 5.30 ERA in 37.1 innings pitched.
