Scottsdale cannot complete comeback, loses 3-2
10/12 Cup of Coffee: Scottsdale could not rally for the second straight game, and lost to Mesa, 3-2.
Zach Walters (WAS) and Hank Conger (LAA) each chipped in 2 hits and an RBI, but it was not enough to overcome the defecit. Scottsdale had chances for more, but ended the seventh with Bryce Harper (WAS) caught stealing third and ended the eighth when Gary Brown (SF) grounded into a double play with two men on base. Tyler Cloyd (PHI) started for Scottsdale and took the loss. Over 3.0 innings, he allowed 4 hits and a run. Cloyd walked 1 and struck out 1. No Red Sox farmhands made an appearance in this one.
Scottsdale will next play this evening at 9:35 EST, hosting the Salt River Rafters.
