Despite Linares home run, Scottsdale gets blinded by Solar Sox

10/27 Cup of Coffee: The Mesa Solar Sox jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and cruised to a 10-5 victory over Scottsdale last night.

The Scorpions didn’t get on the board until the fourth, when Bryce Harper (WAS) laced a two-out, three-run home run. Down 9-3 in the eighth, Scottsdale pulled to within four on a Juan Carlos Linares solo home run and a Harper sacrifice fly, but the lead was too much to overcome, as the Scorpions made three errors and went just 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position.

Linares batted second and played center field, going 1 for 5 with the solo home run. Ryan Dent hit ninth and played second base, going 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk.

The Scorpions will look to get back into the win column this afternoon at 3:35 EST, as they try to exact revenge on the Solar Sox.

Player of the Day: Ryan Dent, who went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk.
