Ranaudo continues to dazzle for Greenville

4/20 Cup of Coffee: Anthony Ranaudo continues to impress, as the Red Sox affiliates sweep the board.

Pawtucket kept the good times rolling with a 3-1 win over Syracuse (WAS). The PawSox have now won 5 straight. Lars Anderson went 1-4 with 2 RBI and Ryan Kalish went 2-4 with an RBI to account for the scoring. Kyle Weiland got the win, as he went 5 innings and allowed 3 hits, 1 run and 4 walks. The righty also struck out 4.

Portland and Binghampton (NYM) were postponed, with no makeup date announced.

Salem used 15 hits to double-up Lynchburg (ATL), 10-5. Shannon Wilkerson went 3-5 with a home run and 2 RBI. Kolbrin Vitek (3-5, 2 doubles, 2 RBI) Ronald Bermudez (2-4, 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a walk), Reynaldo Rodriguez (2-5, a double and 2 RBI) and Jeremy Hazelbaker (4-4, 2 doubles and a walk) all had great days at the plate for the Sox. Chris Hernandez started for Salem and went 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits, a run (unearned) and 2 walks versus 2 strikeouts in the win. In 2 starts this season, Hernandez has yet to allow an earned run.

In a game that featured little offensive firepower, Greenville squeezed by Charleston (NYY), 2-1. Brandon Jacobs came in on a wild pitch in the 5th and Miles Head hit the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 9th to give the Drive the lead. Anthony Ranaudo started for Greenville and pitched brilliantly. The prized righty went 6 innings, surrendering 3 hits, a run and 3 walks. Ranaudo struck out 6. Juan Rodriguez got the win, going 2 innings in relief of Ranaudo. Rodriguez allowed just a hit and a walk while he struck out 4. In just 7.2 innings this season, Rodriguez has 19 strikeouts.

Player of the Day: Anthony Ranaudo, who went 6 superb innings in Greenville's victory over Charleston.
