Players of the Week, April 11-17: Miles Head and Chris Balcom-Miller

After two Greenville players picked up SoxProspects.com weekly award honors last week, the Drive's Miles Head earned Player of the Week honors for his torrid performance at the plate. Meanwhile, Chris Balcom-Miller had a banner week on the mound for Salem and earns the Pitcher of the Week award.

Head put together an outstanding week at the plate for Greenville, which started off with a bang on Monday against Charleston. The 19 year old had a perfect day at the plate against the RiverDogs, going 4 for 4, including a pair of home runs and 4 RBI. Head finished the week with a .310/.375/.724 line, with 3 homers and 8 RBI while also walking 3 times.

Balcom-Miller made two starts for Salem last week, without allowing a run in either game. The first came on Tuesday against Lynchburg, where the right hander threw 5.0 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5 with a stellar 9:1 G/F ratio. Balcom-Miller went back to the mound on Sunday against Frederick, this time allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk over 5 innings. The 22 year old, who was acquired from the Rockies in the Manny Delcarmen trade, held batters to a stingy .100 average over the last week.
