Pawtucket manager Lovullo joins Farrell in Toronto

According to Alex Speier of WEEI.com, Triple-A Pawtucket manager Torey Lovullo will join former Red Sox pitching coach John Farrell in Toronto as the team's first base coach. Lovullo leaves the Boston organization after just one season as manager of Pawtucket, where he went 66-78 as multiple players made the leap from Triple-A to the majors.

Lovullo, 45, has been considered a potential managerial candidate for years, being a finalist to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006, Pittsburgh Pirates in 2007 and Cleveland Indians before last season. Lovullo and Farrell crossed paths often in the Cleveland system, as Lovullo managed across all levels for eight seasons with Farrell being Director of Player Development for four of them.
