Yamaico Navarro promoted to Pawtucket

After spending parts of 2009 and all of 2010 with Portland, infielder Yamaico Navarro was promoted to Pawtucket before tonight's game against Durham. He came in as a defensive replacement and was retired in his only at bat.

Navarro, 22, hit .278/.358/.422 in 88 games with the Sea Dogs this season, with 8 home runs and 55 RBI. He was originally signed as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2005, and has ascended through the farm system quickly since 2009 after starting that season with Lowell in the New York-Penn League.

The PawSox made a few other roster moves today, taking Robert Coello and Jorge Jimenez off the Temporary Inactive List. Coello returned to the mound tonight, firing six innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just two hits to notch the victory. Mark Wagner was also moved to the disabled list, and Mark Holliman was sent to Salem.
