Bowden recalled, Ellsbury to DL
Michael Bowden has been recalled from Pawtucket after Jacoby Ellsbury was placed on the disabled list for the third time this season earlier today.After a night in which the Boston bullpen was worked hard, Ellsbury's injury opened the door for Bowden to be added to the roster. This will be his third stint with the team this year after posting an ERA of 1.42 over 5 relief appearances in August with the PawSox. In total he has made 3 appearances for Boston this season, allowing no runs over 2.1 innings with 2 strikeouts.
Ellsbury flew up to Boston to have an MRI on his ribs after the game on Friday. The injury is on the same side as the broken ribs that have kept him out for most of this season, but the severity is not yet known.
