Apodaca, Reyes traded to Cleveland

According to the Providence Journal, the Boston Red Sox have traded catcher Juan Apodaca and infielder Argenis Reyes to the Cleveland Indians for future considerations.

Apodaca, 24, was acquired by Boston from the Cincinnati Reds at the end of 2007. This season in 55 games between Triple-A Pawtucket and Double-A Portland, Apodaca has hit .239/.346/.341 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI.

Reyes, 27, began his career as part of the Cleveland organization in 2003 and was signed from the independent CanAm league in July. In 14 games this season with Triple-A Pawtucket he recorded just 11 hits in 43 at-bats. In parts of eight minor league seasons between the Indians, Mets, and Red Sox organizations, Reyes has hit .284/.331/.348.
