Sox sign 25th rounder Lockwood
SoxProspects.com has confirmed that the Red Sox have signed 25th round pick Tyler Lockwood, a relief pitcher out of Texas Christian University.
The right-hander made 28 appearances for the Horned Frogs in his senior season, all out of the bullpen. In 65.2 innings pitched, he went 6-2 with a 2.19 ERA, fanning 41 batters and issuing 21 walks. Lockwood was a fixture for the TCU pitching staff throughout his entire career, making 26 appearances in his freshman season. He then moved to the starting rotation during his sophomore year, where he earned first-team All-MWC honors, and then back to the 'pen in 2010, where he played a key role in TCU's long run in the College World Series.
