Salem Sox get five all star nods
Salem Red Sox Ryan Lavarnway, Oscar Tejeda, Will Middlebrooks, Brock Huntzinger and Alex Wilson were announced as Carolina League All Stars this afternoon. Lavarnway, the league leader in RBI and runs scored was named the squad's starting catcher, Tejeda and Middlebrooks were named the starters at second and third bases, respectively. Salem's five selections are second only to first place Winston-Salem's seven. The Carolina League All Stars will face the California League All Stars June 22 in Myrtle Beach, SC.
