2010 MLB Amateur Draft picks 1-16

The 2010 MLB Amateur Draft is underway and the first 16 picks have been made in the first round. The Washington Nationals once again had the first pick in the draft and just as it was no surprise they took Stephen Strasburg last year, they did not surprise anyone when they took Bryce Harper first overall. Here is the rundown of the first 16 picks of the first round.

5. Cleveland Indians - Drew Pomeranz, LHP, Ole Miss
6. Arizona Diamondbacks - Barret Loux, RHP, Texas A&M
7. New York Mets - Matt Harvey, RHP, University of North Carolina
8. Houston Astros - Delino Deshields, Jr., CF, Woodward Academy (GA)
9. San Diego Padres - Karsten Whitson, RHP, Chipley HS (FL)
10. Oakland Athletics - Michael Choice, CF, University of Texas-Arlington
11. Toronto Blue Jays - Deck McGuire, RHP, Georgia Tech
12. Cincinnati Reds - Yasmani Grandal, C, Miami (FL)
