Cameron placed on DL, Reddick called up
The Red Sox have placed Mike Cameron on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal tear and, according to Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox will recall Josh Reddick from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Cameron, 37, has 7 hits in 30 at-bats since signing a two-year deal with Boston in the offseason. He has been sidelined recently with abdominal pain as well as kidney stones. Reddick, 23, has only 7 hits in 39 at-bats for Pawtucket. He appeared in 27 major league games last year, hitting .169/.210/.339. He should get the majority of playing time in center field until Jacoby Ellsbury returns from injuries following his collision with Adrian Beltre on April 11.
