Fien claimed off waivers by Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed right-handed reliever Casey Fien off waivers from the Red Sox.
Fien was claimed off waivers from Detroit by Boston on Monday. In four minor league seasons, Fien has compiled a 14-6 record with a 3.04 ERA in 222.1 innings pitched, racking up 34 saves while striking out 239. He made his major league debut last season pitching in nine games with Detroit, posting a 7.94 ERA in 11.1 innings. There is no word yet on the corresponding roster move for the Red Sox.
