Pitcher of the Week, July 14-20: Brock Huntzinger
Lowell RHP Brock Huntzinger continued his impressive run with the Spinners, hurling 11 innings of shutout ball over two starts last week, holding opposing batters to an .108 BAA on only four hits, while striking out seven, earning the victory in both outings as well as recognition as SoxPropsects.com Pitcher of the Week for July 14-20. Over five innings of work July 14 at Auburn (Blue Jays) Huntzinger allowed three hits while striking out three, and worked six innings, allowing only one hit while striking out four at Tri-City (Astros) July 20. Over seven starts with the Spinners in 2008, Huntzinger has compiled a 4-0 record with a 0.49 ERA in 37 innings pitched, allowing two earned runs on 28 hits (.154 BAA) and striking out 29 while walking only five. Huntzinger, 19, was also named the New York-Penn League Pitcher of the Week for July 14-20. He is currently the 19th ranked prospect in the organization by SoxProspects.com.
