RHP Cody McAllister worked 5.1 perfect innings and struck five opposing batters for Lancaster last week en route SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week honors for July 7-13. McAllister worked two innings July 9 at Lake Elsinore (Padres), striking out one and 3.1 innings at home against Inland Empire (Dodgers) July 12, striking out four. Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma City University last May, McAllister, 24, is 3-0 with a 2.35 ERA in 30.2 innings pitched over 16 appearances, allowing eight runs on 20 hits (.180 BAA), striking out 23 and walking 12. He split 2007 between Greenville (0-1, 3 SV, 1.84 ERA, 10 G) and Lancaster (1 SV, 5.97 ERA, 28.2 IP, 14 G).
